Post Holidays

Christmas in Paris this year was unpleasant for me. Not because of the limited decorations this year or the early closings and inflated prices. I think we’ve all resigned ourselves to these facts until we get through the pandemic. It was overly crowded with visitors. Not the regular tourists like we are used to seeing here, but a rougher more vulgar version. It wasn’t enjoyable.

Things have changed so much in the last 3 years. I am hearing from so many friends how much they are over living in this way. Lower quality goods for a higher prices. Surly staff. Rude individuals. Crowds where there shouldn’t be crowds. I feel like this is what living in medieval London must have been like during the plague.

Yet.. we can’t do much about it except to try to be strong. Keep on going. Focus forward. Being over it and yes, we all are that,… isn’t going to make any difference. It is; however, a wake up call for us. Or at least it should be one.

I believe that the universe is trying to tell us stupid hardheaded humans something important but we aren’t listening. We haven’t change our ways since this all began. If anything we have became more selfish and greedy. Downright belligerent. Entitled. Humanity has been through worse times than these without a doubt.  Humanity will survive this too, I am certain. But what lessons are we learning? Have we learned? As an individual what is your take away?

I’m planning on spending some days reflecting on that in this new year. I need to find the lesson in this for myself. Because there is always a lesson to be learned. Always
